Hi! I’m Courtney and I am the JZ Keeper AAZK Chapter Treasurer. I will make a year at the Jackson Zoo next month, but I have been in the zoo keeping field since 2004! In my past positions, I worked mainly with birds, but here in Jackson I have been given the wonderful job of being primary on the Rhino string. This means I care for Big Mike the white rhino, along with the red ruffed lemurs (Phoenix, pictured), colobus & red tail monkeys, the screamers, and the black neck swan. I wanted to be a zookeeper ever since I was a little kid and I’m so happy I get to continue to live out my dream career.
